Motability is a charity which helps disabled people of all ages get around, it does this by helping them to use a Component of their Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS) to lease or buy a car.

There are various ways you can get more mobile with Motability's help. People using the Motability scheme either Contract hire a new car or use hire purchase to buy a new or quality used car.

Eligibility
Anyone who is in receipt of the higher rate mobility component of DLA or the WPMS can apply. Children from five years old and non-drivers can also apply for cars as passengers, provided they receive the correct allowance.

Extra Financial Help
Motability's charitable fund can help if you are unable to afford the advance payment on some lease vehicles and in some instances driving lessons or adaptation's to the vehicle. Grants are made towards the least expensive option to meet your basic mobility needs.

Special Requirements
If you have more severe disabilities and require a specially adapted vehicle you may qualify for a grant from the Government's mobility equipment or drivers funds which
are administered by Motability.
